How to Use Thieves Essential Oil Blend
Cold-Air Diffuser:
Diffuse for 15 to 20 minutes every 3 to 4 hours.
Diffusing is one of the most effective ways to experience the many effects of essential oils.
The easiest and simplest way of putting essential oils into the air for inhalation is to use an aromatic diffuser.
A cold air diffuser uses room-temperature air to blow oil up against some kind of nebulizer.
This breaks the oils up into a micro-fine mist that is then dispersed into the air.
The oils, with their oxygenating molecules, will then remain suspended for several hours to
freshen and improve the quality of the air. The anti-viral, anti-bacterial, and antiseptic properties of the oils kill bacteria and help reduce fungus and mold. Essential oils, when diffused, have been found to reduce the amount of airborne chemicals, as well as help to create greater spiritual, physical, and emotional harmony.
Recommended Diffusing Time
While a diffusers can run continuously until it is out of oil, the greatest therapeutic benefit
is received by diffusing oils for only 15 minutes out of an hour so that the olfactory system
has time to recover before receiving more oils. This also helps to conserve your oils.
A simple way to do this is to use a programmable timer that can automatically turn on
your diffuser each hour for 15 minutes.
Oils for Air Purification
Diffusing essential oils in the home or work place is one of the best ways to purify our
environment. Cinnamon bark, mountain savory, oregano, and Thieves (a blend by Young Living
Essential Oils), were all tested by Weber State University and were shown to kill 100% of
the airborne bacteria present when diffused into the atmosphere.
Direct Body Application
If you are planning to use essential oils directly to the skin, it is a good idea to test
a small patch of skin first to be sure there is no reaction.
It is important to apply essential oils to the most beneficial areas of the body.
If you have a headache for instance, a good place to apply the oil would be a
corresponding pressure point or reflexology point to the head, but for those who
are not familiar with either acupressure or reflexology, there is an easier way.
Apply the oil directly to your feet.
Many people believe the oil should be applied to the soles of the feet only but,
others recommend applying essential oil to the whole foot to include the reflexes on the top of the foot as well.
Diluting oils
Because essential oils penetrate your skin rapidly, you should look for a carrier
oil that is also easily absorbed such as Young Living's V-6 Oil.
Where to apply
Dilute 1 part Thieves Oil to 4 parts
V-6 oil.
Caution:
Possible sun/skin sensitivity. If it feels too "hot"
on the skin, apply lavender oil to reduce the "heat".
- Apply to the bottom of the feet, throat, stomach, or abdomen.
It is safest when applied to the bottom of the feet, as
it may be caustic to the skin.
- Dilute w/V-6 and Massage over thymus.
- For headaches put 1 drop on tongue and push against roof of mouth.
- Dilute w/V-6 or use "NEET" (Direct to skin, no dilution - be careful!) for body massage.
- Put 4-8 drops on cotton ball and locate on vents.
- Use the EODR, to look up recipes.
- Use the Symptomology List.
- Use the Reflexology Chart

Make your Own Capsules:
Gelatin capsules are for filling with powder. However, when you fill
with oil, they MUST be ingested immediately or they will disintegrate.
Recipes:
Recipe #1
Take a OO capsule, fill with 10 drops of Thieves and top it with 3 drops of Oregano and ingest it.
Recipe #2
Dr. Terry Friedmann's recipe for chest and lung problems.
12 drops of Thieves
4 drops of Oregano
2 drops of Frankincense
Put in gel cap and take 3 times a day as a supplement.
My Personal Testimonial:
I can say with total confidence that I have taken the oils internally
for many years. I have been able to "combat" the 2007 flu/cold/epidemic
that was keeping many people at bay for 3-6 weeks - in just a few days!
It is very important to take the oils internally (5-10 drops each)
for a full 3-10 days, similar to the usual antiobiotic that most people choose to ingest.
Some of my favorite recipes that I have used:
Recipe #3
Gary's "antibiotic formula" for Colds & Flu:
4 drops of Frankincense
5 drops of Oregano
4 drops of Thieves or Immupower or Thyme
Take 4-5 times daily; should have something light to eat prior.
Some people have had indigestion when the oils began to break down.
The best essential oil for treating digestive complaints include:
(Peppermint is best for the digestive system. It is cooling and soothing,
and is often used as a tea. It is anti-inflammatory to the digestive system. I like to put one drop in my palm and "lick" it. This works great!)
Recipe #4
10 drops lemon
8 drops mountain savory
3 drops oregano
Put in "00" capsule
- Take up to 3 times a day
Recipe #5
8 drops Clove
5 drops Thyme
5 drops Oregano
Put into a "00" gel capsule
- Take up to 3x/day
